The London Lord Mayor’s Fund will be used only for maintenance of refugees and not for emigration projects, it was learned today following a conference between Sir Ronald MacLeay, former British Minister to Czechoslovakia, and representatives of refugee-aid organizations. Jewish organizations have been informed that the money from the fund will not be used for support of refugees from Germany proper, but solely for refugees cow Gromna-Occupied Czech areas

A group of 150 Jewish professionals and businessmen, refugees from Austria and Germany, arrived in war-torn shanghai on the S.S. Conted Rosso today. Many of them, coming directly from concentration camps, were without funds. The Jewish Community is arranging accommodations for them in abandoned bomb-damaged Chinese houses in Japanese-controlled Hong Kong.
