Homer S. Cummings, retiring Attorney General, was stated by Justice Department officials today to be considering a suggestion that he join the defense counsel for Herschel Grynszpan, who assassinated a German Embassy official in Paris, touching off the renewed anti-Jewish persecution. The suggestion was reported to have been made by the American Journalists’ Defense Fund headed by Dorothy Thompson.
