The “bold and independent stand” taken by the two Americas at Lima made this Christmas a very unsatisfactory one for the dictators, the News Chronicle said today. The Times linked the stiffening of the United states attitude toward Germany to the work of the lima meeting and said “recent developments in South America have certainly played no small part in influencing the attitude of the United States Government toward the present regime in Germany.”
