Declaring it was clear that the Palestine conference had failed, The Times urged editorially today that the British Government “atone for earlier failures” by framing a sound policy of its own. The Times suggested that the policy take into account the report of the Peel Royal Commission, which in 1937 recommended partition of Palestine, and that eventual union of Palestine and Syria be considered.
