Bulgaria has granted the use of several government farms for the training of Jews and has promised to employ as many graduates as possible, it was announced today by City Councilman George Backer, president of the American ORT Federation.
More than 100 young men from Sofia and the provinces are enrolled in the courses, which are part of ORT’s program of re-directing occupational life for the refugees and other European Jews through vocational and agricultural training. ORT also maintains ten vocational courses and schools in Sofia, constituting virtually all the Jewish technical training given in Bulgaria.
