Austria Asks Race on Entry Applications

Applications for immigration permits henceforth must state whether the applicant is Jewish or non-Jewish, it was announced today by Senator H.S. Foll, the new Interior Minister. Senator Foll explained that the requirement did not constitute discrimination but was meant only to supply information useful both to the Government and the Welfare Society. The Australian Civil Liberties Union is protesting the measure as an infringement of the Constitution.
