Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop yesterday unveiled a plaque at the Foreign Ministry in memory of Ernst vom Rath, German Embassy secretary, killed by Herschel Grynszpan, 17-year-old Polish Jew, in Paris last November.

“Today we are again surrounded by the hate and hostility of the world, “von Ribbentrop said. “We know that our comrade vom Rath was the victim of this agitation.” The plaque bears the inscription: “Ernst Eduard vom Rath who fell in Paris faithfully accomplishing his duty toward the Fuehrer and the people.”
