Darquier de Pellepoix, anti-Semitic member of the Paris Municipal Council, was under arrest today on charges of conducting propagandas financed from abroad, in violation of a decree issued April 25. The charges were preferred following a police raid on his home and the editorial offices of his newspaper, “France Enchainee,” during which incriminating documents were confiscated. Under the decree outlawing racial propaganda, de Pellepoix faces a prison term of five days to six months plus a fine of up to 10,000 francs.
