French, British Colonial Secretaries Discuss Joint Near East Policy

Colonial Secretaries Malcolm MacDonald of Britain and Georges Mandel of France, at a conference today, discussed coordination of Anglo-French activities regarding Palestine and Syria, particularly from the military and economic viewpoints, and also the fate of the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, now in exile in Syria.

After the conference, M. Mandel gave a luncheon for Mr. MacDonald at the Ritz Hotel, attended by Cabinet members and the British Ambassador. Afterward, Mr. MacBonald returned to Geneva to resume his testimony before the Mandates Commission on Britain’s new Palestine policy.
