The departure of some 750 Jewish emigres, including 210 women and 40 children, who are bound for Liberia, provoked new anti-Semitic demonstrations here yesterday.
The Slovak Government meanwhile banned the sale of kosher meat on grounds that slaughtering of animals by the Jewish ritual was “inhuman and contrary to the directive principles of the Slovak State.” The orthodox Jewish community sent a delegation to Premier Joseph Tiso to protest against this measure.
