Polish Jewry Hails France on Bastille Day

President Maurice Maizel of the Union of Jewish Communities today sent a message of congratulations to the French Ambassador on the occasion of Bastille Day. The message emphasized that the Revolution had granted emancipation to the Jews simultaneously with freedom for the French people. It expressed the hope that the “noble ideals of the Revolution” would be continued “for the good of civilization.”
