The Palestine Government, it was learned today, is sponsoring the formation of Arab vigilante groups throughout the country, consisting mainly of adherents of the moderate Nashashibi faction, armed to combat Arab terrorism. The first completed group, set up in Acre, is headed by Assad Shueiri, wartime Chief Chaplain of Jamaal Pasha’s Turkish army. His son, a physician, was recently assassinated by followers of the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem.
