Three bombs exploded today on the premises of the Palestine Broadcasting Company, one of them severely wounding Mrs. May Weisenberg, 28, of South Africa, who was broadcasting on a children’s hour. Two of the bombs went off in the studio and one in the control room.
Two Jews, including an American tourist, were slightly injured when a bus was fired upon near the old railway station in Haifa. The American, Harold Sapperstein, continued his journey to Tel Aviv after treatment.
An unofficial computation revealed that 48 persons were killed and 97 wounded in Palestine disturbances during July. among the casualties were one Briton killed and seven wounded. The casualty list was the lowest in many months.
