The important Chent newspaper La Flandre Liberale today led several publications in attacks on anti-Semitism in reply to the Rexist organ Le Pays Reel which has been publishing daily anti Jewish articles La Flandre carried an article by Paul Henen honorary president of the Belgian Press Association Strongly condemning racial agitation.
Le Pays Reel countered with a broadside against La Flandre asserting not its Brussels correspondent Henri Fast who is also editor in chief of L’Independence Belge was one of the Jewish race “and allows his racial origin to influence his politics.” The Rexist paper announced it would publish a special anti Jewish number on Aug. 25.
