The bail of Fritz Kuhn, head of the German-American Bund, was raised today from $5,000 to $50,000 by General Sessions Judge Cornelius F. Collins when Assistant District Attorney Milton Schilback said he had received an “authentic report” that Kuhn intended to leave New York County before his trial next month on grand larceny and forgery charges. Kuhn’s attorneys said that as result of the increased bail he probably would have to remain in jail until the trial.
