The Justice Ministry today rejected an appeal for reconsideration of its action banning the Brazilian Zionist Federation on the ground that it was conducting foreign political activities. Proposed amendments to the present law against foreign political activities were also turned down.
The order closing the Zionist center here affected the fund-raising campaigns for Palestine colonization and for assistance to Polish refugees. A new amended statute changing the character of the Zionist Federation is being urgently prepared.
