Italy has quietly relaxed her anti-Semitic restrictions since Premier Benito Mussolini’s latest shake-up in the Government and Fascist organs, diplomatic circles here heard today.
The reduction in power of Achille Starace, former secretary of the Fascist Party, and Dino Alfieri, former Minister of Popular Culture, both of whom actively favored Nazi policies regarding the Jews, was held to indicate that Jew-baiting was out of favor with Mussolini.
