The organ of the Orthodox Jews, Zsido Ujsag, urges Hungarian Jews to carry their identity documents with them at all times because of the hunt for bearded Jews launched by police throughout the country.

Many Jews of Polish nationality, although residing in Upper Hungary and Carpatho-Russia for many years, are now being forced by the Hungarian authorities into the Nazi and Soviet zones of Poland as aliens. Raids are being made not only in the streets but in railway stations and on all trains running to Budapest.

Many Jews who are Hungarian citizens have also been detained and held under arrest until they could prove their citizenship.
