The economic position of Palestine was considered yesterday at a meeting of the executive committee of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, at which President Chaim Weizmann presided.
Siegfried Hoofien, director of the Anglo-Palestine Bank, delivered a report covering the general economic and financial situation of the country, following which the report was discussed. Dr. Weizmann paid warm tribute to the personality and achievements of Siegfried Adolf van Vriesland, industrial and Zionist leader, who died in Tel Aviv on Monday.
