Berlin Jews Left to Starve, Freeze, Swiss Paper Reports

The Zuercher Zeitung of Zurich, Switzerland, reports that many Jews in Berlin have been left to die of starvation and cold.

Jews are not receiving ration cards for clothes and are unable even to buy sewing material to repair their old rags, the paper states. Food cards are not sent to Jews as they are to other sections of the population. Jews must obtain their cards in person, entailing their lining up for hours in bitterly cold weather.

A special trick of the Nazis, the paper declares, is to issue cards to Jews only on Tuesday morning, while registration in retail shops ends on Tuesday evening. Thus they risk not being in time for registration. They are also excluded from
