The British Government was urged in the House of Commons last night to tell refugees to prepare themselves for British citizenship and to “cease thinking of the blessed time when they will be able to return to Vienna or Berlin.” The suggestion was made by Col. Josiah Wedgwood, Labor M.P., in the course of a discussion on the L180,000 refugee aid grant announced by the Home Office on Feb. 1. A vote on the grant, details of which were outlined last night by Home Undersecretary Osbert Peake, was decided upon.
