Delegates from 15 cities attending the annual conference of the New England region of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds last weekend urged local communities to organize their 1940 campaigns to meet increased Jewish needs both at home and abroad.

In a series of resolutions, the conference recommended that welfare funds take steps to assure provision for their local needs, both Jewish and general, and “that pending the much desired extension of the limited United Jewish Appeal, welfare funds give consideration to the needs of other worthwhile overseas agencies not now included in the United Jewish Appeal.”
