Arab-jewish Amity Important to British Forces in Near East, Storrs Says

Sir Ronald Storrs, former Governor of Jerusalem, declared at a luncheon today that the existing truce between the Arabs and Jews in Palestine was “very necessary because the large number of troops massed in Syria and Palestine under General Weygand need a peaceful background for their operations.” He added that he did not regard the Arab-Jewish problem as insoluble.
