Emanuel Hertz, an outstanding authority on Abraham Lincoln and brother of Chief Rabbi J.H. Hertz of England, died yesterday at his home after being stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage a week ago. He was 69. Hertz was also widely known as an attorney. He was an organizer of the Jewish community in Washington Heights, New York City. He contributed about 20,000 books each to the Hebrew University library and to the Lincoln Memorial University.
