Israel will face disintegration to the degree that the Jewish family and home are weakend as a result of the war, Rabbi Sidney Goldstein today warned the 51st annual meeting of the Central Conference of American Rabbis in a report for the Committee on Marriage, the Family and Home.
“Both marriage and the family are gravely in danger,” Dr. Goldstein’s report said. “Israel will suffer and be in danger of disintegration to the degree that the Jewish family and home are weakened.”
He recommended study groups for those recently married or about to be married, a consultation service on personal and domestic problems, pre-marital conferences in which young people could be instructed in the meaning of marriage and the foundation of the family in accordance with Jewish ideals and the conclusion of current social science.”
