The District Court has sentenced four anti-Semitic Polish Endeks, including a woman, to prison terms ranging from three months to six years for participation in anti-Jewish excesses last Oct. 31. Others will be tried shortly.

The trial established that the police were derelict in their duty to defend the Jews. It was recalled that former Interior Minister Kazys Skucas administratively fined a Jewish journalist 1,000 lits, with the alternative of 50 days in jail, for “defamation” of the police by accusing them of remissness during the excesses.
