Senator Nye, a leading member of the Senate isolationist bloc, today hotly denied any sympathy for, or tie-up with, pro-Nazi movements and threatened to launch a probe of the instigators of an investigation of himself by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

J.E. Hoover today informed Nye that the F.B.I. had made a thorough investigation of the Senator because of an alleged pro-Nazi tie-up. Nye stated: “It seems to me that my position is clearly evident in the record. I have had no sympathy for the Nazi cause at any time and the investigation by the Bureau of Investigation will bear that out.”
