Rumanian Cabinet Drafting Anti – Jewish Laws; Zionist Papers Quit

The Council of Ministers is busy defining the principles and necessary laws to regulate the status of the Jewish element in the new Rumanian order following organization of the Party of the Nation, it was stated in an official communique yesterday.

Many Zionist papers, reviews and bulletins have ceased publication.

Interior Minister David Popescu today authorized the Jewish Community and a representative of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee to collect funds for the relief of refugees from Soviet-occupied Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina. Notice of the authorization was made in an interview with Dr. William Filderman, president of the Union of Rumanian Jews.
