Close and constant government surveillance of the German-American Bund and the Ku Klux Klan was urged by the New York Times in an editorial today.

The newspaper expressed the hope that Federal and local police will be prepared to act if either group steps outside the law. If Hitler were to attack this country not one of those who cheered his name at the joint Klan-Bund meeting at Camp Nordland, N.J., on Sunday could safely be allowed to go about his business unwatched, the Times warned.
