Slovakia Bans Jewish Education; Bars Jews from High Schools

The Bratislava wireless announced today that Jewish religious schools in Slovakia will be closed down and private Jewish teaching forbidden.

Commencing with the new school year no Jew will be accepted in schools and tuition fees already paid will be returned the announcement said. According to the D.N.B. German news agency under the draft bill, Jewish children in Slovakia will be permitted to attend only elementary schools where they will be segregated from “Aryans.”

Slovak plans for a Jewish ghetto forced Jewish labor and economic “Aryanization” will continue uncompromisingly Vice-Premier Sano Mach declared at a fete at Neutra according to German press reports from Bratislava. Premier Vojtech Tuka asserted that the Jews were the enemy of every national development.
