Windows of some Jewish shops were broken yesterday. Hitherto the only open manifestation of anti-Semitism here had been the writing of anti-Jewish inscriptions on walls.

An important furniture shop was compelled to post this placard: “We are a share company with 80 per cent non-Jewish stockholders. Our manager is Jewish, but a French Jew, decorated with the War Medal and the War Cross.”
