Yellow armlets have been enforced on Jews by the Nazi occupation authorities at Bordeaux, Bayonne and Tours in the western part of the occupied zone, it was reported today by travellers arriving here.

The dispatches also said that the occupation authorities pillaged the Paris flats of rich Jews, carting off furniture, silver plate, paintings, china, and carpets.

Reports in the occupied zone that following the census of Jews male Jews between the ages of 20 and 50 would be sent to special camps caused panic among the Jews, it was said. The Jews attempted a mass flight to the free zone but were prevented from doing so by the Nazi refusal to grant permits and the strict watch over the border.
