The 44 German Czech and Austrian refugees who arrived here from Italy sailed Saturday on the S.S. Cherokee for the Dominican Republic to become settlers in the Sosua colony. They came from Italy, where they had been interned in concentration camps by way of Lisbon and stopped over at Ellis Island by arrangement between the State Department and the Dominican Republic Settlement Association.
