Pointing out that the invasion of Greece made the Axis threat to Palestine more menacing and more direct, the Zionist Review, British Zionist organ, demanded editorially today that the British Government accept the Jewish Agency’s offer, without delay, to mobilize the Jews of Palestine for defense of the country.
The editorial stressed that Greece was not the major objective, but a springboard for further attack aiming at the Iran and Iraq oil fields, the way to which was barred by Palestine. It declared that Middle Eastern military requirements demanded that every friendly element in the region be enlisted for the fight.
