Dr. Stephen S. Wise, chairman of the Emergency Committee on Zionist Affairs, today sent the following cable to Moshe Shertok, head of the political department of the Jewish Agency Executive in Jerusalem: “American Zionists and all friends of Palestine shocked to learn lamentable fate passengers two refugee ships. We are heart and soul with you and united Yishub in this difficult time and in your determined struggle to safeguard future of Jewish people.”
