Nazis Decree Blocks Bank Deposits of over 3,000 Crowns Held by Czech Jews

A decree blocking all bank holdings of Jews over 3,000 crowns has been issued by the Nazi authorities in the Czech Protectorate, it was reported here today.

According to Der Neue Tag, Prague Nazi organ, Jews, persons married to Jews, and Jewish organizations must surrender their savings bank books by Dec. 13 and the deposits will be transferred to blocked accounts managed by German-appointed trustees. Jewish enterprises are permitted to retain cash not exceeding one year’s sales.
