Following a comprehensive report by Moshe Shertok, head of the Jewish Agency’s political department, the Palestine commission of the Zionist General Council yesterday began debate on the political situation which will be continued at a session next week.

The meeting, called to discuss budgets of the Zionist Organization and Jewish Agency executives, was opened by Chairman Menachem M. Ussishkin, who eulogized victims of the refugee ships Patria and Salvador and also paid tribute to the late Vice-Mayor Dov Hos of Tel Aviv and Oscar Grusenberg, Russian Jewish lawyer, who defended Mendel Beilis.
