Miss Laura Margolies, representative of the Joint Distribution Committee, who recently arrived here to conduct relief work among Jewish refugees, was given a reception by the Shanghai Jewish community at the Jewish Club here. Representatives of various Jewish organizations, as well as the president of the Jewish community of Tientsin, I. Levitin, participated. Miss Margolies, in her speech, discussed JDS relief activities throughout the world and described the difficult circumstances under which these activities are conducted.
