A mass meeting last night sponsored by a committee of the Legion of Volunteers against Bolshevism, assumed the aspect of an anti-Semitic demonstration, with Jews being generally attacked by the speakers and the rabid anti-Semite, Constantine, calling for the guillotine of “the Jewish leaders who led France into the war.”
“The Jewish microbe”, said Constantine, “is responsible for all the disorders of the world. Judaism and Bolshevism are intimately connected”.
Other anti-Semitic leaders who spoke included the notorious Jacques Doriot and De Longle, who during the war was imprisoned for plotting against the French Government, as head of the Cagoulards.
An audience of about 15,000 heard the speeches and punctuated them with shouts of “Death to the Soviets” and “Death to the Jews.” Leon Blum’s name was booed.
