Because he urged during the first World War that the Baranya District in Hungary should be annexed to Serbia, the seventy-seven years old Jewish doctor, M. Alexander, has now been put on trial by the Hungarian authorities, it is reported here today.

The trial is taking place in a court in Fuenfkirchen, a city regained by Hungary after the collapse of Yugoslavia. Dr. Alexander who resided in Fuenfkirchen, fled from there shortly before the Hungarians occupied the city. He was, however, trapped in another Yugoslavian city and brought to Fuenfkirchen for trial, charged with conducting anti-Hungarian activities.
