Part of Confiscated Jewish Property to Be Used As Relief Fund Under Vichy Decree

Part of the assets of the “liquidated” Jewish commercial sad industrial enterprises in France will be used for the creation of a Relief Fund for Poor Jews, according to a law published today in Vichy’s Official Casette.

The text of the law was announced today over the French radio stations. It provides.

1. The Commissar for Jewish Affairs is authorized to appoint temporary administrators for the liquidation of Jewish property, giving them extensive powers not only to administrate it but also to sell it.

2. The administrators are to be supervised by inspectors. The proceeds of the sale of enterprises and of property are to be deposited in Caisse des Depots. Part of the assets in to be used for the creation of a special relief fund far poor Jews in France.
