Louis D. Brandels, retired Justice of the Supreme Court, lapsed into a coma early today. Physicians were understood to have despaired of saving his life. (As the Bulletia went to press Justice Brandeis’ condition was unchanged.)

Messages of sympathy and concern have been pouring into the Brandsis home during the week-end. Mrs. Brandeis and his two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Brandeis-Rauschenbusch of the University of Wisconsin faculty, and Mrs. Susan Brandeis Gilbert, a judge in New York City, are constantly at his bedside.
