Proclaiming October as “Hechalutz Month,” the Hechalutz Organization of America today launched a nation-wide drive to popularize among Jewish youth the program of training for pioneer service in Palestine after the war. The organization aims to train 1,000 young people in specialized courses, including aviation, farming, radio, nursing and mechanics, besides another 1,500 young people who will be physically and spiritually prepared for service.

Displaying the results of nine months of training at the Hechalutz Aviation School in New Jersey, two Halutz pilots, Hyman Schechtman and Pesach Toll, have just completed a successful 2,000 mile flight that included stops at Detroit and Cincinnati.
