Three Jews, working in a labor gang at Poznan, Poland, were arrested and sentenced to death for having bought white bread, it is reported here today. White bread is forbidden to Jews.
The German police marched them through the streets of the city wearing large sandwich boards announcing they were to be hanged the following day. All the other Jews working in the gang had to pass under the three gallows from which the bodies of their former associates dangled.
