Declaring that most Dutch trade fairs “still resemble Tel Aviv,” Nazi authorities in the Netherlands have ordered that Jews be excluded from all such fairs in the future, it was reported today in the Voice of the Netherlands, issued by the Dutch Government-in-exile.
The German occupation officials particularly criticized the municipal authorities in the town of Einhoven where half of the stalls in the market place were Jewish-owned. “The trade fair at Einhoven,” they irately declared, “looked as if it were under the supervision of a rabbi.” Dutch circles here stated today that this incident was but one of many precipitated by the Dutch population’s refusal to submit to the anti-Jewish regulations introduced by the Nazis.
