Edward Keith-Roach, British district commissioner for Jerusalem, today praised Ussishkin as “loyal to his ideals, steadfast in action, courageous in thought and honest in purpose,” in an address delivered in Hebrew at a memorial meeting to the late JNF leader arranged here by the central Jewish bodies in Palestine. Other speakers included Moshe Shertok, chief of the political department of the Jewish Agency, Isaac Gruenbaum, the Agency’s labor head, and Prof. David Yellin of the Hebrew University.
