Most of the Jewish population of the town of Skotchek in Nazi-occupied Russia were suffocated in an airless cellar where they were confined by the Nazis, it is reported here today by Red Army sources.
When the Nazi troops occupied Skotchek they rounded up all the Jews and locked them in the cellar of a large community warehouse. When the cellar was opened twenty-four hours later most of those confined there were dead, according to information the Red Army obtained from a captured Nazi soldier.
