Increased anti-Jewish measures imposed by the Nazi administration upon the Jews in occupied Holland are resulting in renewed pro-Jewish and anti-Nazi demonstrations on the part of the Dutch population, according to a report reaching official Netherland circles here today.
As a result of these pro-Jewish demonstrations, some 700 Jewish shops in Amsterdam were ordered closed by the Nazi authorities, the report states. It adds that the Amsterdam student organization dissolved itself voluntarily when it received an order to expel the Jewish students from its membership. This pro-Jewish demonstration on the part of the Dutch student youth led to the arrest of a number of student leaders charged with sabotage and with anti-German propaganda.
