Dr. G.H.C. Hart, a Jew, has been named to the post of Secretary-General of the Ministry of Colonies in the Dutch government-in-exile, it was announced here today. He will work directly under Prime Minister Peter Gerbrandy who has assumed the position of Colonial Minister since Lieut. Gen. Van Mook, of the Netherland East Indies, who had been slated for the position, is unable to leave his post.
A special prayer for the success of the Dutch defense in the East Indies will be offered at Saturday’s services in the Spanish-Portuguese synagogue here, the congregation announced today.
