“It is about time for Catholics in this country to declare themselves on Father Coughlin in no uncertain terms,” says Edwin A. Lahey, a Catholic writer, in today’s Chicago Daily News, condemning the anti-Jewish outbursts in Social Justice. The writer points out that not only the Jews but also organized labor boycotted the Nazis. Mr. Lahey also recalls that Meyer Levin, was the bombardier who sank the Japanese battleship Haruna. “I relate this only because I have heard the traditional canard that the Jews are ‘not in this war’,” he writes.
